Coz you're everywhere to me, and when I close my eyes, it's you I see,
You're everything I know that makes me believe Im not alone._Michelle Branch
When I was a child, I was already talking to you. And I thought you were so quiet.
I was never sure if you hear me but honestly,
sometimes I thought you do.
Growing up, I would always bargain with you. You know!
“I will be good if granting my wish won't be slow”. I couldn't see you but really,
sometimes I dreamed of you.
I used to question how, or why, or what or when. But being young sometimes made it hard to comprehend. Sometimes I wanted you to talk straight to me, but sadly you'd rather have me read you.
On a rocky rocky road I felt so all alone. When all I saw were stones, I thought my heart was turning rough and hard, and that somehow it was being burned by the sun. That time I thought you're unreal, but sincerely I hoped I was wrong.
Crying my heart out on a rooftop, I kept on calling you but why didn't you hear me? I was shouting at you but why didn't you stop me? That time I thought you're indifferent, but I was kind of hoping you were just busy.
I wanted to talk to you but I just couldn't find you.
I wanted so badly to see you but you were playing hide and seek.
I wanted to hear your voice but you were so silent and mute.
I wanted you, I hope you knew.
But oh and whoah!
Isn't it funny how you choose to show yourself sometimes?
How cool it is when you help me understand?
Just when I thought you're never there, then you're always there.
You hear me when I call. (Psalm 138:3a: When I called, you answered me).
When I bargain with you, you just let me and accept me if I fail. (Psalm 32:1-2: Blessed am I whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed am I whose sin the LORD does not count against me and in whose spirit is no deceit.)
Now I figured! When I ask you how or why or what or when, it's me who needs to be silent and listen. (Psalm 37:7a: I will be still before You Lord and wait patiently for You).
From time to time there will be rocky rocky roads, but my heart will never be like a stone. I have been given a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 11:19: You will give me an undivided heart and put a new spirit in me; You will remove from me my heart of stone and give me a heart of flesh).
Whether I whisper or shout at you for you to notice me, I'm assured you are attentive to my cries. (Psalm 130:2: Oh LORD, You hear my voice. Your ears are attentive to my cry for mercy).
How could you be busy when your ears are not deaf to hear me, nor your hands too short to save me. (Isaiah 59:1: Surely, Your arm LORD is not too short to save, nor Your ear too dull to hear.)
Now I know. Now I understand.
All because you loved me first.
So now whenever I wanna talk to you, I pray.
Whenever I wanna see you, or hear you, I read your Word.
Whenever I want your company, I go out with your beautiful children.
Thank you because you see me, hear me, feel me, and know me.
And now
I see you.
I hear you.
I feel you.
I know you.
And one day I will see you face to face and I will dwell in your house forever.
